AMP SETTINGS!!

hey!, i was wondering if you guys could help a brother out!! i just picked up a brand spanking new Randall RH100G2 head and cab. and i love the f***ing thing, but im not getting the power and sound i want out of it!!. if anyone can help my out, it'll be a HUGE help!!
Im lookin for a Dimebag Darrell tone basicly, i want that razor sharp cutting tone!! and i'd also like to know how to get a POWERFUL vintage metal sound, classy and pretty, but can nail ya in the chest!! a Zakk Wylde deal!! i know a Marshall is the way to go with a vintage sound, but i know i can find a way to get one on a Randall.
i basicly want anything that can be powerful, and low, and can feel it in the ground and chest when you crank the amp up!!, i'll read ya off the knobs!!

DIRTY CHANNEL:
Reverb, Contour, Bass, Middle, Treble, Gain
CLEAN CHANNEL:
Bass, Middle, Treble, Reverb

heres a pic of the thing...

if any cat got any settings or advice that can help me out, please send it over to me!! it'll help me out soo much!! thank you!! Cheers!!

I have a Randall too, RH200SC. For hard, heavy and chest punding metal, I use:
Treble:9,Mid:8,Bass:10,Gain:8,Contour:3
or
Treble:10,Mid:2,Bass:10 for more of a crunchy sound.
I don't use any of the effects on my amp(reverb, chorus) much since I don;t notice much of a sound difference. This was the only Randall any store actually carried, otherwise I would have bought a RH200G2 or RH100G2 instead.
As for the "Dime" sound, I heard that he uses Treble:10,mid:9,bass:8. Not sure though.
BTW what model cab do you have?

It sounds like a monkey taking a dump in a can that's what''s wrong with it
and it's funny you get a more crunchy sound if you scoop mids. normally you would have to turn your mids up

Scooped mids for death metal,no.Scooped mids for Nu-metal works,no matter how much you may loathe the sound.

I was just messing with my amp settings and actually now that you mention it, the extra 'crunch' comes from the contour control not the scooped mids. My bad! So disregard my last post...scooped mids DO suck!

You would scoop the mids, since he wants the Dime tone. There's nothing wrong w/ scooping the mids a little, as long as you don't have them at like -123412123 and blast the fucking treble and highs up to the point that you're ears are bleeding.

Sometimes if I feel that my settings (t:10,m:8:b:9) are too muddy, depending what guitar I'm playing on, I either lower the gain on the amp a bit or I turn down the tone on my guitar to about half way.

2) Early 90s raw black metal (this is the one I need to know most!!)- Mayhem, Immortal, Mysticum, Emperor, Tsjuder etc
3) Traditional 80s stuff- Motley Crue, Skid Row etc
