Meshuggah
What do you guys think of Meshuggah? and of the Swedish metal-scene in general?

I hate Meshuggah! They have a very repetetive, stait forward, choppy, one tone sound. They bug the hell out of me, but some of my friends like them.
As far as the Swedish scene goes, I love it. Its probably my favorite scene. My fovorite band is Hypocrisy. I think that Peter Tagtgren is the one keeping metal alive down there.

THEY SUCK!
they should replace there guitarists with Trevor Peres and Allen West
and for the singer they should put Corpsegrinder in.
Then Pete Sandoval for Drums
and Rex for bass, then it would be called Muhsugar or whatever.

I have a few mp3s from these guys, and I am really impressed by them. I'm really starting to like them. They have a similarity to Pantera; not with the southern style, but with rhythmic few-note riffs like the verse riffs in Psycho Holiday, Domination, A New Level, Use My Third Arm, Slaughtered, etc....
Their drummer is kick-ass, he does some complex stuff (well, complex to me anyway). the solos aren't super cool, but they're melodic and they fit.
try this one song i'm uploading into metalfolderc, Future Breed Machine.

make sure you post the results here, bro.
i've only ever heard Future Breed Machine and it's alright.....plenty of other bands i'd spin before it though - that's not to say they're bad. 'tis but there are many others i'd play before that un.

I bought a cd by a band called Systhema......anyone ever heard of them?
Well, the song had a bit of a catchy tune to it, so i got the cd......and it sucked enormously.....the review i read AFTER i bought the cd gave it a 1/10, i think someone tried to give it 0.5/10...they all said that Systhema was a major rip off of Meshuggah, which was the same style, but a 1000's times better. So, i might give them a listen to sometime......but probably not, i've been too discouraged by Systhema so listen to any mathematical metal type music or whatever genre or metal it's called.

Can a motherfucker get some god damn Meshuggah news one of these days??? Last I heard they'd gone into the studio to record the album, nothin after that.
Meshuggah is not math metal for fuck's sake, I dont know who made that retarded term up but jesus fuckin christ stop using it!!! They know their time signatures, they play offbeat rhythms...thats it.
Hopefully the new one will be better than Chaosphere. Destroy Erase Improve was their last great record.

I don't like Messugah very much... Too plain, and it hears like they haven't worked much on their songs...

I hope it's okay to dig up an old thread like this...didn't want to start a new one and invoke the wrath of everyone and their third cousin twice removed.
Anyways! Meshuggah is fucking awesome! Future Breed Machine, Sane, and Soulburn have to be three of my favorite metal songs ever. I hope they finally get their custom 8-strings soon. The "8-strings" they used on the new album, I heard, were actually seven strings tuned to the low 7 of an 8-stringer. Is this true?

Man, how dare you disrespect Meshuggah.
THey were one of the brutalist bands out there during the late
80's. Yeah, I know that Chaosphere and Nothing sucks. But
you gotta hear stuff from Contradictions and Destroy Erase Improve.
