Can't really say. Just don't scoop the mids or turn the gain all the way up.

Sell your metalzone, buy an amp with decent distortion,
That seems to be the standard advice for people with Metal Zones.

As if he's gonna sell his MZ right after just buying it. Not everyone needs to get a good amp right away.

The best metallic sound you get out of this is when it hits the bottom of an empty trash can. I owned this, and it is not worth DICK.
No, but I hear if you run an EQ at the same time, it's sound is actually worth a shit.

I second that about the EQ. I played a MT2 with a boss GE-7 for half a year a while back, it's actualy not that bad. For bedroom playing that is.

Personally, if I were going to go for a pedal, it would be a Rocktron Silver Dragon. I've actually played it, and its not that bad. Or at least on my friend's Blue Voodoo.
I suggest selling the MT-2 and getting a Silver Dragon. Or just supplementing it with an EQ.

Yes, but Mr. Texas up there felt the need to be "witty." The original poster spelled it like that.

Most cheaper distortion pedals suck, not just the metal zone in particular. Unless you buy a boutique distortion pedal which can cost upwards of $200 you are probably better off getting a decent amp with good distortion. Then again, there are some decent pedals out there. I myself like this "Tube Screamer" distortion/overdrive unit I tried out at a guitar center near me. But that could be because my amp distortion sucks at the moment.
Cheers
And btw, be more specific on the tone you want, post some bands you like and I'm sure I could probably help you EQ that thing a bit.
