A buddy of mine is all about that damn game, he bought the Japanese version before it even came out for everyone else. All of the menus were in Japanese so he had to memorize what was what, haha. I tried playing it a few times but it was too much of a pain in the ass to get into, maybe if I owned it myself i'd accomplish some of it.

I bought a 120gb(thank you 24-hour Wal Mart..I think?) PS3 slim last night because my 40gb PS3 died for the second time, and this time it wasn't under warranty. Pain in the ass, but the PS3 slim is pretty sexy.

Also, Dragon Age: Origins. I'm only 10 or so hours into it, but this game is very, very good. I'm a exiled dwarf prince and I've already had sex with two dwarf wenches and have made out with a hot witch. How cool is that srs.

However, the game is full of glitches and hiccups, yet doesn't take much away from amazing story/dialogue and gameplay.

The animations are kinda choppy and the voice acting is mildly retarded, but this is to be expected in BioWare games. It's the old-school D&D layout that makes their games so awesome, and the hundreds of upgrades and items.

Yeah, I was missing a lot of work because of that game which is weird because I never thought I'd get addicted to a non-online game.

I rarely smoke pot as I always have bad experiences with it, but a few months ago I did and was playing the game (Point Lookout expansion) and was doing a mission where you happen to inadvertently get drugged by some intense psychedelic plant. As the game play became really fucked up, and I mean really fucked up, I started to think I was hallucinating all of this. Zombies would charge at you and disappear, changing color hues covering everything, random bombs would explode but had the audio replaced with a baby's laughter, random sounds when you'd shoot a gun, etc. I had to stop playing and go online to make sure that was suppose to be happening. It was pretty hilarious and awesome after I made sure I hadn't finally cracked. Fuck pot though, I've had worse trips on pot than acid.

You should check out Prototype, TD. In a nutshell, it's like a Spiderman video game(you can run up any building you want and jump across to other shit), a GTA game(you have all of Manhattan to run around with no limits), mixed with crazy awesome villain powers that you can unlock as the game goes on. It basically just keeps getting better as you get more powers. It's one of those games where you can play it for 4 hours and knock a bunch of shit out, or just throw it in for a quick 20 minutes and cause complete chaos everywhere.

I have heard a few people complain about the replay value, i'm fine with it though because I don't like playing just 1 game at a time. All of your powers are upgradable too, so it usually just keeps getting better every time you throw it in.When I got my new tv and hdmi cable, I played this game for 3 days straight though. The graphics are the shit and there are tons of fun side missions to do. It's one of those games that's good to have because you will get random cravings to play it. I played it on the PC. It certainly has its moments, some pretty gnarly looking monsters and the like. Nice and gory, too. You have to literally dismember many of the creatures to put them down haha. Always a plus! I got stuck in the game though, about half way through, and haven't gone back to it. I really must give it another whirl. My one criticism of the game is the over-the-shoulder view. That sort of view is fine in most games, but it feels too "closed in" in Dead Space; it takes some getting used to, because it feels like you've got a massive blind spot, or that you're not able to manoeuvre as smoothly as you'd like, or something like that...it's just uncomfortable for the first hour or so of gameplay.

I think the creepiest game I've played to date is Condemned: Criminal Origins. I'm about half way through playing it for the 4th or 5th time actually, and it still has the power to fill me with panic every now and again. The audio is utilised perfectly, I think games generally make the mistake of overdoing it in that department, but in Condemned you might hear a slight rustling sound or a bucket being knocked over, and then quickening footsteps, and then the grunt as a psychotic drug addict swings a metal pipe at you from the darkness with everything he's got. It's not even supernatural horror (although the game does contain that element) it's just quite a realistic sense of brutality, which is splendid

Condemned 2: Bloodshot was out on consoles over a year ago and I'm still waiting for the fuckin' PC version! I watched my wee bro play it on his Xbox though, it looked alright, not quite the same atmosphere as the first. In other words, I can wait haha.

Yeah can't go wrong with Dead Space. But one of the scariest? Naaaah. Although especially in the beginning gets the hairs in your neck right up quite a lot. It IS a really good and engaging game though. (oh and don't worry, you'll have your load of HOLY FUCK WHERE DID THAT BITCH COME FROM-moments)

Ahhh Silent Hill! A classic game. I remember the first time I played it, when you get to the part where there's a mandatory "lose game" scene during which demonic midgets start bearing down on you, and nearly shitting myself. I haven't played any of the sequels, though.

Silent Hill 2 is great, truly great, despite having retarded controls and interface. After that the franchise started a long, slow descent until becoming indistinguishable from Resident Evil. It's a shame.

But play 2. You won't regret it. There's a man with a pyramid for a head (nicknamed 'Pyramidhead' for reasons unexplained) who runs around raping things. That should pique your interest.

I feel so left out, I haven't played any of the Silent Hills. This is probably because I never had a Playstation and got a Playstation 2 late in the game. Seeing that I can't run Dead Space on my computer, looks like I'm about to do an ebay run.

Luckily I have this awesome website that "hints" you towards solving puzzles. It'll have 15+ different hints you can choose to view (in order) for different puzzles.

Does anyone here own an arcade machine? Back in the day this was one of my main fantasies, along with touching a girl's fanny and watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3. Given the sheer anticlimactic gut-punch of disappointed the last 2 bestowed upon my person I eventually reasoned that an arcade machine of my own would most likely bring similar hollow misery, so I gave up the dream and instead focused on willing my pubic hair to grow, to great effect; my nether regions are now a veritable Sasquatch of pubescence.

There was a top-down, vertical scroller shooter game I quite liked in an arcade in Belfast, and I thought it was called Contra until I looked it up and saw that it was a completely different game. I wish I could remember what it was called. You could collect power-ups which gave you 3-way bullet streams and the like, and you were a military sort of chap fighting robots and machinery. I think it was in the late 80s/early 90s when I last played it, although it could be much older than that.

I finally beat Dantes Inferno, it was worth the play through. I may try and beat it again on a higher difficulty. Finally prestiged on MW2 and completely lost interest in playing it haha. Prototype and Uncharted 2 are next on the list, then I'll finally take a stab at Oblivion.

I actually think Fallout 3 is a better game than Oblivion - there's less content, but what there is is more focused (and better). I think they built a better world there, too. Though I guess they partially inherited it from some of the best RPGs ever made.

Dark Brotherhood's one of the better guild lines. Though I suppose my favorite would have to be the big heist that finishes up the Thieves Guild line.

I think you have to keep in mind that these were pre-internet days, and the town I live in was pretty much a hollow husk at the time with no industry whatsoever, so I'd either have to order the game from an overpriced catalogue or buy it from an overpriced high street shop in Belfast. Either way I was getting shafted. Well, my mum and dad were. Hmmm, kinda wish I hadn't evoked that image so close to bedtime.

I undoubtedly played Earthworm Jim 2, but I can't really remember much about it. Which one of the two games had the level were you have to escort a puppy or something by removing obstacles and bridging gaps as the fucker walked along without looking where he was going like some sort of cunt? Hated that shit haha.

The first game is where I first experienced Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. Do you remember that underwater level where you're in a bubble and have to avoid smashing it against the walls? That piece was playing throughout the level, and I remember feeling very weird because of it; I wasn't sure if I wanted to cry or have a wank, not that the two are mutually exclusive around these here parts. It was a pretty frustrating level, too. The whole game was fucking frustrating. My brother told me today that the new HD version of the game has several difficulty settings, with easy, normal, hard and original. Apparently "original" is the hardest setting, and that was the setting you and I played the fucker on when we were kids! Fucking brutal.

Well I played through it for a while, but then found out that the best rewards you can earn in the game from DB come from level 25+ characters.

I especially like how the more it goes on, the darker it gets until you can barely see anything around yourself adding to the loneliness of the game/score. And the near-ending of that level where you have to play in the game show is so freaking bizarre. None of the questions make sense or have a right answer. Loved it.
