Spoilers Just finished the part where you had to decide to kill either Dwayne and Playboy. I killed Playboy - he seemed like the type who would turn on you in the end, whereas Dwayne seemed more like a "dog for life" (lol gangstuh talk) /Spoilers

Just beat it. Bloody incredible, but the ending sucked...good thing I saved just before a particularly crucial point in the game.

Edit: Damn, the other ending was just as depressing. Even still, GTA IV is now my favourite GTA to date, though not by much.

Edit 2: Took around 30 hrs in case anyone was wondering, and that's with skipping most of the carjack and assassination missions.

How the fuck did you put 30hrs into a game in just a few days?

i'm 29% through with like 15 hours down, but more like 18 including the killing sprees and times without saves etc.
i've been spending a lot of time in the comedy club or playing darts and pool though. fucking brilliant. always something to do in this game. and every time i do a mission or start a police chase i see something cool i've never seen yet that makes my jaw hit the floor.

My assessment that GTA 4 isn't as good as San Andreas. They left out significant amounts of variation and things that were good and fun in the other games for this "density." The density in the game only adds asthetics without adding any real meat in gameplay.

There are some big pluses but some annoying minuses.

They've made the game into almost a first person shooter, except a first person shooter would have a zero rating with shotty character controls like this game has. Before it wasn't that big of a deal, but now its just fucking annoying. It didn't take me very long to take off auto aim as its pretty pointless if you are trying to move from target to target.

No planes to fly and realistically only 1 type of helicopter? Fucking gay. So gay it pisses me off.
No tanks, FBI, jets? Really fucking gay.
No dirt bikes, scooters, bicycles of any type. Dumb.


Only one firearm shop per island? Really annoying. No listings on the map for any food place unless you've visited it before. (even if you drive by and see it it doesn't add it.) Another strike.

Also the classic i'm being chased by the cops yet they don't spawn ANY vehicles except taxis or the shittiest cars one could get into. This is very annoying and unrealistic. Downtown area in broad daylight and no vehicles.....

Why the hell can i not run and talk on the phone yet i can do wheelies and stoppies on a crotchrocket and textmessage?

The game is also becoming clear that its too easy in alot of ways, but maybe i'm just getting better at GTA games.

The new way to get away from police is pretty good and it feels a little more natural. There are plenty of other positives this game has but its already been said to death or overblown completely.

Because they decided to make this a purely dense urban environment so much of San Andreas that i loved has been taken out of the game and whats left is some ok stuff that looks really good, and responds fairly well.

So, I buy my 40gb PS3 yesterday, which I'm very happy about.

I hook it up to my HDMI Samsung tv(not plasma/or lcd) and turn it on. I see there are white/ghost lines going up the screen. This happens when playing a game too. Really fucking annoying. I plugged it in to another tv and it plays fine.

The tv is only a couple of years old. It hasn't done this with my ps2 nor when I watch movies/watch television. I haven't bought the PS3 HDMI cables for it yet, do you think that will make it better?

I had the same problem when I had mine. I tried several different setups, but none helped(It actually got worse over time). If it bothers you too bad you could probably send it to Sony, but there's no telling how long that would take. I finally just said fuck it and traded mine in for a shit ton of 360 games.

Edit: Oh haha I see it's working now. Also I didn't think about it at the time but it could've just been the cord I was using.

Yeah, the system did work fine on another tv so I'm thinking it's my tv.

I have Ninety Nine Nights in my 360 collection and that's probably shaping up to be a better game than this.....it's damn near impossible to achieve less than 90% on hard with the "drums". The guitar sections make Guitar Hero look like an impossible riddle on hard also - it's just way too repetitive.

Even after only paying £83 for both the drums and the game, after discount, I can't help but feel I've been a bit ripped off....

I'm not patient enough to send it off. It was a little over six weeks the last time I tried that anyway. Eh guess I could have gotten a little more for it, but the dude's a good friend of mine and I've got enough for a 40gb PS3 now anyway so I'm not sweating it.

Not sure what's on the demo, but other maps include a desert, oil rig type, and a few field/town maps. Not too broad but all are fun nonetheless. Multiplayer can very intense, especially considering the constant destruction about. Last FPS I was serious about was Counter Strike..and well, it doesn't really compare.

Within the next few months im going to invest in a 360. It's only $199 which is awesome. I mainly want it for Fable II. Fable was such a kick ass game, I can't wait to play this one. I also want to play Oblivion finally. I was excited as shit when it first came it but wasn't going to pay the fuck load amount of money for the 360. $199 sounds fine to me now.

Also the new WoW expansion comes out tonight, that should be pretty sick.

Started playing the PS2 again. I purchased Katamari Damacy and Kingdom Hearts. Both amazing titles and easy to get into.

I was just playing Fallout 3 on my PS3..the game freezes, so I reset it. I was playing it again for a minute or so and it freezes again..I shut the PS3 off and then it won't read the disc, or any other disc for that matter. Fucking ridiculous! Good thing it's still under warranty by Sony....

Star Wars rocks! Very rich fully interactive environments. Basically you can use the force on everything in the game. Seemed a lil short, but I think that's cause I played it like non stop. Difficulty system should not be underestimated, hard is... fucking hard!

Just finished fable 2, another amazing game. I ended up unlocked almost every achievement (expect the online shit). Now I'm onto Fallout 3.

That's one of my fave games ever, hanging on the back of the flying colossi while trying to get to the weak spot is awesome and so epic. I love the artistic scope of the game as well.
