Just finished playing Mass Effect. Definitely the best game on the 360, and easily one of the greatest games ever, even though planet exploration, and a lot of the characters and subquests are pretty bland and forgettable. The lack of explorable population centres (only one city, a settlement, and a tiny camp - WTF?) also bothered me, and I would've liked it if there were more 'Paragon or Renegade' decisions - not just conversation options with minimal consequences and no real impact on events. Compared to the other amazing BioWare RPGs, ME falls way below KOTOR standards but ties with Jade Empire.

Dang. Well, rumor has it "they" are making an online KOTOR in the future.
Unfortunately, EA might have a hand in it. So....  ...who knows?
In other news, Ninja Gaiden 2 comes out for the 360 next year. The sequel to one of the hardest and most amazing looking/playing games.

KOTR will remain one of the best games on XBox. They just lack in length.
Ninja Gaiden 2! I'm really anticipated that title but I don't have a 360. Luckily both of my best friends have one and are fans of Ninja Gaiden. There is also a Ninja Gaiden for DS coming out next year.

Apparently if you wrap it in a towel for 15 minutes or so it helps. My brother told me that his friend did that after his was broken for months... so that's my "guarantee" on that working. Maybe you should look it up though.

There are two known ways to fix a XBox 36o and the towel trick does work but I would just send it in. With the 3 year extended warranty MS put out there is no reason to try and fix it yourself.

Phil is right actually. think about it.
It makes the console expand inside with the heat so 2 wires that have detached can meet, then it cools and stops working, but while this is happening...everything else inside is overheating, the fans are working twice as hard and generally you are forcing your console to work overtime.

KOTOR is the best game of all time in my eyes, with Jade Empire and KOTOR II not far behind.
Has anyone played Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines? I recently beat it, and holy shit is it an amazing game. Storyline, characters, soundtrack - it ticks all the right boxes. I'd rank it just behind KOTOR; the gameplay style is in fact pretty similar to KOTOR.

Sweet, the towel trick worked. I managed to beat Half Life 2: Episode 2. Awesome shooter, though disappointly short at only 4 1/2 hours. I expected to beat it in the same time it took me to beat Episode 1 - around 8 hours.

Just got my hands on FFXII. Awesome so far, wasn't sure about the new fight system but once you start to get a party together it's pretty fun. just doesnt feel like FF though :/
story is great so far, most of the voice acting is better than i expected. liking the customization. its awesome.
i know you lot have discussed it quite a lot in here, so any tips? (WITHOUT giving anything away)

For the NeoGeo I would be entirely exclusive to SNK games, obviously. However with the PS2 I would have a billion games to play that I've missed out on and all the PSX games.
PS2 and PSX also have quite a few Metal Slug games which is possibly the only reason for getting a NeoGeo Pocket aside from the fighters.

i got my 360 back the other day from microsoft after experiencing the three red lights, only today have i managed to try it out, 10mins into vegas it freezes, a few attempts to get it working later and suddenly there's the three red rings again. i fucking hate this console at the moment.

That sucks Sam. :/ I've been playing CoD 4 at my mates house. Pretty good game- a shit load of people play it too but it will never pull me away from Halo 2.
Currently, I'm playing Luminous Arc which is a nice little SRPG for the Nintendo DS. It's one of the only DS games with voice acting and it also has WiFi battles which will keep me more than busy after I finish the story mode which is 12+ hours.

i didnt finish the campaign but i played alot of multiplayer online with my bro. i didnt think it was that great of a game either.
resistance fall of man is a sweet ass game, online and off. but im right into call of duty 4 at the moment. fucking kick ass multiplayer. and i just beat the game on veteran but i cant get thru the plane at the end. ive made it right to the last hallway and i always run out of time.

Question: Where can I find a PSP emulator? I've looked everywhere but came up empty, I did find some but its said something about the emulator doesn't ectually read PSP Roms. Then why in the hell call it a PSP Emulator?!?
The reason I want one so bad is because I really need to play Silent Hill Origins but I can't cough up the money to purchase a PSP and the game.

If you haven't already got Oblivion, get. Other than that there really isn't much. The 360 lacks RPGs but I've heard Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, and Blue Dragon are all worthy titles.

FF7, Chrono Trigger, Shadowrun, Super Mario RPG, and for GBA RPGs, hmmmm, I had Golden Sun way back in 8th grade which I thought was an alright game. It got boring at times but it's a decent RPG.

They are. Mass Effect is the better of the three in my opinion. I haven't paid Lost Odyssey yet but from what I heard and seen it looks great.

Beat, beat and currently waiting for the second one.
There is no way I can play any other platforms due to lack of system.
BB, playing through Earthbound and got stuck. Didn't want to use a manual so I quit. Should I continue? Ness was the only character I got so it was fairly early in the game.

because I wanted to play throught it and my brother sold his old bass to pay for most of it. That and three are the best suikoden games. I've already beaten FF7 and 8 like a bajillion times, and I don't like to play PC games...so yah!

Eh. Do you use your laptop as your desktop? And if so do you have a really good laptop?

First of all the suidoken series is a seriously sick set of games. And both of those games on pc COMPLETELY blow. Blow so much that its unfathomable why you would even post such garbage.
The pc versions of those games have MIDIS as the music. The amazing compositions by Nobuo Uematsu should never be watered down into midis. Besides the games run terrible on computers. I downloaded and tried to play FF7 on my pc i don't know a year or 2 ago and ran just as shitty as it did when i had it when i was 12.

I don't see how thats too disputable. I mean this is my theory on it.
Obviously one is going to be better at whichever platform they chose to use. If you play pc more, you'll be better at aiming and being precise on it, the same with a console.
But i think the difference is which one is ACTUALLY more accurate, not necessarily which one is better at. I think its pc because of how many muscles and controls possible it is to be able to manipulate the mouse rather than just the muscles of a thumb moving a thumb stick.
I mean hell i know this has to be true because if anything you can change the sensitivity of a mouse to the point where it takes alot more to make small adjustments.
Those are just my thoughts about this "PC vs. Console" shooter question.

to play the other side, think about playing guitar, people play much more accuratly when they only move their hand or fingers to pick as opposed to keeping their hand straight and moving their whole arm aka more muscles.
however i do play more console than pc so your right about that being a factor

Well thats kind of over simplifying whats going on.
I know what you're saying, but when you play guitar you use all of those muscles less arm muscles but you still need to use them to move your hand a little bit up or down (depending on which string you are on.)
Also you basically agreed with my statement about the thumb. There are mutiple and interlocking muscles that run the hand and wrist, so using all of them to move a mouse over using just the "single" (dunno if there are more than 1 or 2) muscles of the thumb should make it more accurate.

Yeah seriously. When i was about 10 they had one pretty much all over. Now i seriously can not think of the last time i saw one except when i was in chicago and this one that was... fucking HUGE.
Arcades are awesome because you can play multiplayer games that have been screen, and shit actually moves, like the seat and what not. Also you get "realistic controls" and all that.
Apparently they are still extremely popular in japan. Thats what i last heard.
