I usually read reviews for the game before I buy it, if it has good reviews I will buy it. I play lots of computer games too, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn is a classic and one of my favorites, Blizzard makes great games too, Diablo II, Warcraft, Starcraft, etc. They really need to make a new Starcraft. As for console games, I love Morrowind, Resident Evil, Halo, Red Faction, etc. Mostly X-Box games, Final Fantasy is also a great game series, FF7 = Best RPG game ever.

Doom 3 owns too, but I'm currently stuck and can't seem to find a way to beat this hard ass boss, some of you might know what I'm talking about.

actually i liked the old Final Fantasies. i have the anthology which is japanese versions 3 and 4 ..i think theyare american version 5 and 6

the amount of work that went into those games is on level with the amount of work that goes into graphic design and engine design and stuff like that now. they put so much effort into the music (nobuo uematsu is the best game audio creator of all time, hands down!) , the colors, the atmosphere, the characters..

I love games! I'm a freak. Halo 2 (Xbox) is my current binge for online gaming. I'll take on anyone anyday. I always rent cause my xbox is modded so I can just rent a game, copy/burn it, and wham. Most games aren't worth buying these days anyways. I like FPS the most, next would be action/adventure (third person), and RPGs. I still think Max Payne was one of the baddest fucking games yet.

I just got a game called The Bard's Tale. It's a pretty awesome comedy RPG. For example:

Random Knights: We are the guardians of the switch that controls this gate, and you shall not pass!
The Bard (cockney geezer acccent): Hold on a minute, if you're guarding the gate, why put the switch right in front of it?
Random Knights: Err...well...you're right!

Random Princess: I am locked in this mountain tower, save me bard!
The Bard: It always has to be a tower with you lot eh? No one keeps captives at ground level any more.

Also I got Half Life 2 for the xbox, but I haven't got around to playing it.

I can't seem to get away from halo 2 online multiplayer. Optimatch is just too well done. Get some buddies in there and you are addicted.

I got Quake 4 for the xbox 360 for christmas but we can't find any 360's around here so I have to wait until I get back from Saskatchewan to go find one.

i fucking love halo 2 online, but i sold my xbox. And gordy, once you get on live i want to kick you around up at mikes! Last weekend i played NFS most wanted. Nothing really innovative but the cop chases were addictive. We played it for 16 hours and only beat half the game. Alright, you can laugh now.

So what are peoples' opinions on the next-gen consoles? Here's my mini-analysis:

The PS3 is a hard one, since there hasn't been any actual in game footage and no one has gotten to play the console yet, but I think in terms of power it's equal with the 360. Even the developer behind MGS3 has said he only wanted to develop for the PS3 because it was "newer".

An obvious advantage for the 360 is by the time the PS3/Revolution come out, it's going to have a pretty big catalogue of games and developer's will have already got to grips with the console. Also, I think Microsoft could afford (and likely will) slash the price of 360 and it's games by the time the PS3/Revolution come out. Also, Xbox Live has proven to be extremely popular, and Sony has only hinted at a similar system for it's PS3. For now, from the abysmal launch line up and problems with the hardware, things can only get better with the 360.

On the other hand, I don't think the PS3 will come out in early spring as predicted. I would guess a Japan launch would be possible in late autumn. And by that time, some hardware specs could've changed... Who knows? Sony has always been sly regarding console performance, and we could see it outmatch the 360 in terms of graphics capability.

The Revolution, well, no one really knows much about it apart from the fact that it's going to be cheaper, graphically inferior, and have a completely different controller than the other two systems (Think "3D mouse").

Overall, I would say the three consoles are actually quite evenly matched. The 360 would already be well established in the market by the time the other two come out, though I very much doubt it will get the fanbase Bill Gates wants it to have in Japan.

The Playstation has a huge fanbase across the world, and perhaps Sony has a few tricks up it's sleeves (there's a Sony event sometime in February, where I'm sure they'll divulge more info).

Nintendo isn't really popular in Europe/America, but it's absolutely huge in Japan. Just look at the DS (which I guess was a sort of testing platform for Nintendo's "new and innovative" ideas) which sold millions in Japan. The Japanese proved to receptive to Nintendo's new ideas, therefore It's a sign of good things to come for Nintendo in Japan, but not really anywhere else.

Killzone is amazing, never get bored of it, 2 player is pretty cool... and the tony hawks pro skaters..arent bad now and then..

Actually the PS2 has tons more RPGs than the Xbox, but I get what you're saying: the Xbox has more European style RPGs. I'm an Xbox guy too, since most of my favourite titles are exclusive to Xbox/PC (Think of games like KOTOR I/II, Fable, Morrowind, Halo, Call of Cthulhu, Half Life 2) and I consider the Xbox to be a mini PC gaming machine.

Also the Xbox seems more, how can I put it, "organic". Whenever I think of Playstation I think of something cold and unnatural. Weird huh?

I thought that video looked pretty insane too. Then it was admitted that the video was actually originally in really slow motion, but sped up so that it looked like the ps3 could actually handle it. Never trust pre-rendered videos. It is completely different than gameplay. That is what is kind of keeping me away from the ps3 right now, I don't see why they aren't releasing more gameplay videos. It's like they have to hide it from us and trick us into thinking the pre-rendered videos are actually gameplay.

PSP is worth the extra money. the DS is just so childish and lame. what would you rather play, mario kart online with randomly selected people, or Socom online with a head set and stuff. The PSP is obviously superior.

Since the new GTA is going to be on the PS3. I'll be getting a PS3. Not to mention I fucking hate microsoft and any shit they release there for I will never own an xbox.

Eh, the PSP just seems like a PS1.5 with a screen, and practically every game you can get on it is/will be available for one of the home consoles. Since I don't actually play that much on the move, a portable console has to offer some kind of incentive for me to purchase it, which the DS does. The PSP also offers completely useless capabilities, more precisely movie and music playing. I just want a cheap and fun handheld, not a portable living room!

I just played Perfect Dark Zero multiplayer in a shop. It was somewhat enjoyale, but the factors which made it only somewhat enjoyable are:

1. Really really unresponsive controls. I set the sensitivity to the max and the controls were still extremely slow.

2. Shitty control system. No jumping, the crouching is slow, and the cover moves are completely useless.

The graphics were alright-ish, but nothing like the hype leads one to believe. To me it was only 0.5 times better than what something like HALO 2 produces, but I guess game graphics will improve as the console matures.

Resident Evil 4 is an amazing game it is way better than the rest of the series.

I own the game and i'm surprised to hear somebody say that about the graphics. The player models looks too cartoony for my likings (they were going for more of an artistic look) but I find the environments to be incredible. Even the gun models look extremely polished and nice.

Has anybody tried condemned for the 360? I beat it a few days ago, it wasn't long, but it was a great game. You could tell it was a bit rushed out as some of the things don't seem as polished as they could be, but when I was on the last level I could have sworn it was real life. I've never seen better fire effects, and the scenery outside was dead on. The game's atmosphere scares the shit out of me. I've never played a scarier game.

Just got F-Zero GX for the Gamecube, so far it's really quite good. Good games are so hard to find for the Gamecube, there's so little selectin in shops nowadays.

Yeah classic games are unbeatable though like sonic etc.

What a fucking piss take. My xbox just died on me. I get a disc error five minutes in on every new game I have. I'll get one of those special screw drivers and fix try fixing it myself.

Get a can of compressed air and alcohol swabs...clean out the dust/shit inside the system and swab the laser lens with the alcohol....I did that on my 1st gen. PS2 last year when I started getting errors...it still works perfectly to date.(Two of my friends had this problem with their ps2s)...ended up throwing out their systems...ha, silly bastards)
