Baroque Sound
How can I get a Baroque period sound in my music. I'm looking for stuff like music from the castlevania games or kinda like Malice Mizer ( if any of you like them). What scales, efffects, techniques, etc. should I use.

heh...
http://metaltabs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22099 for some ideas.
As far as scales and techniques... everything is game. Pedal tones are a common characteristic. Moving via circle of 5ths/4ths sounds classical. Playing super fucking fast scalar and through arpeggios sound classical. Using wide intervals sound classical.

Analyze Yngwie Malmsteems's "Baroque and Roll"
Also a definite characteristic is hetereophonic texture - that is a melody, with the 2nd guitar playing it with only small differences.
Also, harmonize shitloads.
Pretty obvious really.

Bach's six cello suites is a great example.
