When using the Recording/Phones (output in my amp designed for recording) in to record instead of micing the amp does it use its own kind of speaker? Does that mean it doesn't use the external speaker? So if the external speaker is damaged it won't affect the sound when using it solely to record using the Recording/Phones output or using the headphones? When damaging speakers by negligence (ex. unplugging guitar when connected to an amp at high volumes or connecting to a speaker in a wrong output) do you damage the external speaker part of it and not the internal speaker (part used recording/phones output for recording or using headphones). So if the external speaker is damaged you can still use it to record or listen in headphones? Is the output using the Recording/Phones output sound just as good as the sound coming from the speakers? When I want to send it to a recorder do I need a direct box?

Normally this is a line out, which means you can monitor your sound through your speaker but get a direct signal from the amp to your 4-track, computer, etc. You shouldn't need a direct box at all. I'll post more later when I'm not as busy!!
