Gibson Byrdlands and ES-335 as well as other similar guitars are electric/acoustic or partially hollow bodied. Yes they can be used on an electric guitar amp. Ted Nugent used his Byrdlands Through Fenders dimed out in the 70's, as well as using them currently through his 5150's for Great White Buffalo and Fred Bear in his current live shows.
You will have to learn how to play the guitar on your amp if you are using any sort of drive as the guitar will have almost uncontrollable harmonic feedback. Give it a shot, youll never know how it sounds unless you have a go at it.
