Tightening tube sockets?
Um, so does anyone know how i can get my tubes to fit tighter in my poweramp? i replaced them and while the old ones were really snug the new set are kind of loose and they actually kind of went out of place as i was playing, resulting in a very very very quiet sound instead of the normal volume...so i shut it off.
How can i tighten them in there so they wont "fall out" due to expansion from heat?

well not "fall out" after i used them the heat expanded the metal prongs or something so they pushed up out of the sockets...
Yeah i dunno i was thinking i could tighten each individual socket by going in there with a toothpick or something?

i dont believe heat pushed the tubes out of the sockets... but who knows. I know that you can use a small pick and spread the prongs back outward... other then that i have no idea. make sure the amp is turned on when you are doing it haha, im funny

Just buy yourself a set of tube retainers from the Tube Store or a place like that. They are inexpensive, something around $2/ea. and they are worth it. Have a tech install them if you do not know what you are doing as you have to pull the sockets from the chassis and that means opening up your amp and having to go near componants that will carry lethal amounts of voltage even when unplugged.
It is not uncommon for older tube sockets to get a little loose when you put new tubes in them.
