Machetazo's new bassist=INSANE!!!!
OK I don't know if you guys know about Spain's grind freaks Machetazo. But I just got their new album last month called "Sinfonias del Terror Ciego".
They just got a new bassist. I think his name is Carlos Cadaver. Not sure. In any case he is a fucking madman!!!! Usually when people think of grindcore bassists they usually think they just distort their tone and follow the guitars. Not this guy. The guitar and bass work off each other. Sometimes he puts a fuzz or distortion on his signal but other times he just plays it clean (depending on what atmosphere he wants). In one part of the song "Horrendous espectros en letargo" during a blast beat part he does this insane tapping thing. The guitar speed picks the riff but the bassist taps out each note in the chords. He does this fucking fast too. He uses all four fingers on both hands. However he doesn't just do fast stuff. He has a really creepy clean bass solo type thing. I forget what song it was but it is really slow and creepy.
I recomend this album to anyone interested.
Personally I think this guy is better than Alex Webster.Alex usually just follows what the guitars are playing and has one or two so called solo parts. But to me they are fills. Alex is still good but this guy just seems to stand out more in the music he's playing and he uses the bass as a lead instrument (since the guitarist never solos) and knows what he is doing.
So yeah my advice is watch this guy..he is going to be big.

Yeah they put the shittiest song on the website. You have to get the album to hear his amazing work. Like I said it may be a little hard to hear at first so listen carefully.

In neibla funebre Chis Reifert from Abscess does the vocals for that song!
Dopi (who is also the drummer) does the main vocals for Machetazo and the bassist Carlos does the backing vocals.

Yeah, I think I'd definately have to hear the entire album because judging from the song I heard, I wasn't impressed.

It's nothing special it's just what you'd expect from the average grind album and i think the vocals are way to loud also but oh well what can we do about it?

never knock the webster
you probably havent seen him live
in songs he tends to follow the guitars but plenty of amazing bassists do that...
you couldnt have hard death metal with a smooth flowing bassline.

Is that distortion or fuzz? I'm guessing fuzz.

Say I ment to ask about Machetazo. On their first album "Carne De Cementerio" does your copy (if you have it) have a cover of Black Sabbath's Children Of The Grave? Cause mine doesn't yet on metal archives it says it does.

I wish they sold stuff like that near me, hardly any places around my area sell extreme albums if they do it's mainly the big bands like decapitated, cannibal corpse and the berserker so alot of grind stuff is really hard to come across.
I either use the internet and download it or just order stuff off the net.
