heres a bit of a challenge to all you gear heads out there. i want to know what all the extra gear is on this Ibanex GAX and howd id go from a standard guitar to this and what id need.

Depends on what kinda GAX you have. This doesn't look that special, some ugly stickers, a trem and some different pickups. haha.

Basically you can't 'copy' a custom shop. it probably has different bodywoods and shit. However I see nothing really special about this guitar and I don't see the added value in having this one opposed to a real J-custom RG or something similair.

Just get a tech to pop an Edge Trem in there and put in some DiMarzios and your practically there but it depends on what wood your GAX is made of too. Kind of like Def said .

i dont actually have an gax/ax i just cant believe they want $6000 for this. i reckon you could just about make one for $1000. yer i know theres alot better gear out there but i was just curious.

Basically, buy it only if you want to frame it and hang it, money can be better spent on a guitar if you seek a good playing axe.

Not just in my opinion, but speaking realistically, I think this would be a foolish investment: I can slightly understand why someone would (IMO) waste a lot of money on a guitar used by aband just to hang it if it were an idolised and 'eternal' player who is likely not to be forgotten (such as Hendrix and YJM etcetc) but not for one that was in a band where guitars were nothing special and will not be remembered in decades, even by today's hardcore fans.

Think of it as game collectors - just cos it's old and 'famous', doesn't mean that a game such as Super Mario will be worth shit all, where as Secret of Mana would be (super nintendo). A loose analogy but still...

I just checked out that website and listened to some of his shit. It's actually not that bad guys. Main page you can open and listen to songs through the browser. Damaged was a pretty sick song.
