I just realized Are You Dead Yet seems like Alexi was listening to a shitload of some shadows fall stuff. One of the new songs has an intro that sounds a lot like the Shadows Fall intro to What Drives The Weak.

On a side note, are there any people who like Shadows Fall but hate the vocalist's screaming? I know I do.

Shadows Fall is okay. I like their dual guitarists. I think they work well together. Alot of their stuff somewhat sounds the same to me, or maybe just has the same theme. I'd rather the singer growl then do his cleans... oh wait that's the guitarist that does that "grab da nuts" falsetto.

Shadows Fall are underrated because of the fact the vocalist kills the music, and that they are put alongside all of the new american "heavy" metalcore shit. I like the guitars alot.

Okay, I like old Bodom, but you can see them ripping off riffs off of other bands. Check out Sixpounder and Pantera's New Level, the main riff and verse parts are similar. There's another Pantera song, I can't remember the name, but In your Face sounds like the exact same fucking thing but w/ the keyboards. Let me find out what the Pantera song is though...

Some Pantera is decent. Yea, nu-Bodom definitely steals from Pantera and from Shadows Fall. Its just shit compared to their old stuff. Hell, I really wished if they went towards to modern sounding metal they did some TL&S stuff, or even the HCDR style stuff.

So anyways I said that the Sixpounder riff sounds like New Level, and so I found out that other song. In your Face sounds just like Use My Third arm, in the beginning riffs. Haha like even the part where he yells, and where the drums come in, it's the exact same spot.

I liked COB in COB, Hate breed, and Follow the Reaper. I didn't like too much HateCrew Deathroll and now I dislike more "Are you Dead Yet?". The classical CoB is better.

Maybe that is Alexi style. Everytime he wants to change music styles his guitar playing riffs become very similar or ripped off other artist of the style he is looking for. In his very first album the guitar riffs were similar and some ripped from some classical composers. After that he got a very original classical style in Hate breeder and Follow the Reaper.

yeah new bodom isnt too great. Everything before hatecrew deathroll was wayy better. But i do love hatecrew deathroll, its just really different. I havent heard too much off of are you dead yet but what i have heard i didnt like too much.

Doesn't piss me off at all, but I wouldn't say they're redneck at all. They're more like Nu-metal (except it's 234234234 times better). Redneck to the max would be more of bands like BLS, Corrosion of Conformity, or Brand New Sin.

Yea, its pretty cool Brand New Sin are getting more popular, not too common to see a band out of the Syracuse area getting recognition.

I actually like HCDR too. Its just different from all the other bodom albums, but its good in its own way. People complain HCDR has no melody, it does, its just different. But I think they pulled the whole B-Side horror movie sound perfectly. You can definitely tell on HCDR that Alexi was whacked on speed, I think its faster than even Hatebreeder. And Something WIld is the best bodom album IMO.
