I don't know how to help you out with that riff, it's pretty easy for me to play, just make sure you downpick and don't alernate pick it... And as far as the guitar goes, I wouldn't worry about it looking to sparkly...

You're an idiot... but korn sucks
anyway that guitar kicks ass! with jumbo frets and a Wizard neck it helps you in speed. also it has an Edge pro bridge (floyd rose). if you're gonna get it you might need some help with the floyd so go here http://www.glowingtubes.com/p/FloydTuning.htm

WTF?
It's not a 7-string, how does Korn step into the picture? I own this guitar pretty much, except mines a 2000 model and it's not the 1570, it's just a 570, but it looks exactly the same, and has the same specs. The original paint was that mirage paint job in forrest green, it wasn't too sparkly, it actually looked fucking badass.
To play that metallica riff, try to downpick it all, if you can't, which I couldn't downpick it for the longest time, alternate pick those open E notes.

The only thing you can do is practise, mayhe practice sliding with one finger, not the whole chord.

Play the slides really slow to begin with. Its tempting, with slides, to just start off trying them full speed. Dont, build up speed, its crucial with slides sometimes, so you can get the accuracy.
