And You're Not Around

New melodic metal piece. I'm hearing a female vocalist, but I tried to make it genderless.

" And You're Not Around "

You grabbed my heart and turned it around
Made me think that all the days we'd have would be
A writer's book of romance
We'd be sculpted into something that only a master could make
But like all works of art and books that are well read
The fine lines and pages became worn
What happened to the second chapter
Seems it's gone

We tore through the sky in a flash of lightning
Floated through the stars and touched them one by one
Sometimes I don't know if I should hold onto the memories
That we created
Or should I just keep to the moment
To keep my heart from breaking
To keep my head from wondering
My soul can't seem to give up searching
For all the things you promised me
But that's getting me no where
Just breaking down my shoulders
With a burden that is sometimes hard to bear

Ease the pain inside
The glimmer from a tapered candle
