CANNIBAL CORPSE have been utilizing session musicians for their recent touring activities, including Barrett and Jeremy Turner, who had previously played with ORIGIN.

Considering how many of us don't consider CC's past works that 'brutal' compared to say Cryptopsy or Disgorge, we're all just hoping that they'll come out and do something that truly impresses us. The Wretched Spawn was great, the next logical progression would be true and utter tech-death. I'm anxious to hear that. Everybody is focusing on the title, but nobody has noted on the fact that there is no Jack on this album, which is a disappointment. Aside from Alex, Jack was the talent in the band, although he was a jerkoff when i met him his absent presence will be noticed on this album. In my opinion CC hasnt made an album that was badass all the way through since Gallery.

I guess that could be a reason he left but to be honest i think Barrett and Pat together would work better than with Owen and Pat because they are cooler and better than Jack who had to cut off his hair cuz he was balding.
And the answer to the Cd's they will make as many as it means making more money and as long as people pay for the cd's and to see them live.

Impossible, unless every song has something to do with raping the virgin mary, and splooging on a fetal jesus face, and then pushing her down the stairs, their is no way the album could be brutal. I mean... comeone Chris Barnes is more Brutal than Cannibal Corpse.. and he was CANNIBAL CORPSE.... wtf... shut up. Im not expecting much from this... becuase it is Cannibal Corpse, I like them, But Cannibal Corpse and Six Feet Under are all starting to sound the same, riff wise. I mean the vocals are awsome in Cannibal Corpse, but the guitar needs some upping, he has the pedal now he just needs some fucking skill to work with.

I think the guitar needs to be better in a sense of some thought about riffs instead of doing a Wretched Spawn and play everything at 2000mph and just come up with some catchy riffage like on "I cum blood or Covered in Sores"

I think that the CC guitars are pretty good and I don´t like SFU at all.
If we are talking about technique and stuff, SFU sucks hell compared to CC.
I hope that the next CC album will be even more technical, they really developed imo.
If Webster and Obrien are writing the songs it will be technical for sure.
But it´s right - the title, "Kill", is boring...

OR they could hire Zakk Wylde to write riffs for them, and then if at all possible cover it up with a death metal foot pedal and record it and set the tempo up 80 bpm lol.

No, you don't but that wasnt my point.
If you had any reasoning abilities at all you would understand that what I was saying is that almost all death metal bands, when promoting a album, focus almost solely on the fact of how brutal, technical, or heavey the new album is going to be. Which is sad, because when people focus on writing brutal/technical stuff for teh sake of being brutal/technical, songwriting goes down the tubes.
Perhaps next time, if you want to make a point, formulate an argument instead of just typing the exact opposite of me. It's just stupid.

I utterly agree. You rarely hear "this album is really good and we worked really hard on it. This is quality music that we believe in."
The only time a band had balls to say something like that, that I know of, was when Big Black put a sticker on their new album, informing people that it wasn't as good as the last one. |
