Favorite back-up vocalist
Who is the best back-up vocalist?
For me it has to be Vortex from Dimmu Borgir. His singing turns a good song into an amazing song. He pulls it off perfect live too.

i thought he flat out sang for them? he sings completley on the new arcturus album so you should check that one out if you like his vocals. he sang on some borknagar too

Steve Wilson did a good job for Opeth, but he's not in the band. Per (or whatever his name is) is okay too I guess. But I gotta say Karl Sanders too.

Guys from Anthrax (Scott Ian, Frank Bello) do nice back up work when playing live. It can be heard on their "Live: The Island Years" album. Scott Ian also does great work on S.O.D.'s "Bigger Than The Devil", check it!

Oh. He's got a range of voices then, I know its overlapping recording, but the lead vocals sound like a realy big type person, and the back ups sound like a whimpy little bitch lol. Thats pretty cool shit.

I dunno the guys name but he was the bass player for a band called "gridlock takedown" i dunno if there signed but they played in cambridge meaning small.
But he sounded kinda like vocals form like myrkskog/zyklon kinda thing.

Wow I never knew Flo did any vocals at all, always thought it was Lord Worm. And I've seen Cryptopsy live too, but the didn't play that song.
Karl Sanders isn't really a back up. I think just all 3(Karl, Joe and Dallas) do their specific vocal parts in each song, for Nile I don't really think there is a "lead vocalist". Dallas does a very large part of the singing though. On the Behemoth site there's a clip where Nergal comes on stage and sings the breakdown in "Cast Down the Heretic", fucking sick.
MY personal favorite is the guitarist from Napalm Death, that guitarist that always uses a white V. High pitched shreaks galore. I forgot his name, I think it might be Jesse Pintado but I'm not sure, cause I don't even know if he's with ND anymore.

Oh he screams alot of the time. Another good one is at the starting of Benedictine Convulsions, while Worm's growling. Once you heard enough of what you know's his screams you can tell him apart from Lord Worm, his voice is a bit different. He's quite good at it, too. I wish he had more.
