Hey people.

I am a Death Metal Vocalist in a band called Beyond Insanity.
I do the depth but not the high pitch growls.
I can do screams, but then it always comes out with a tone in it.

I would like to have some words from you people.
How can i do high Pitch vocal with out hurting my vocal cords.

I'm by no means a vocalist but I suppose my input cant hurt.

I do the low growling mainly but recently wanted the same that you're after so I started experimenting singing along to death metal. I tried to analyze the way my throat felt when growling. I then did a basic growl and gradually opened my mouth to a scream. This allowed the sound to be more raspy like something approaching Akerfeld, while keeping the throaty rasp rather than the "tone" that you can hear in your voice. I suppose my point is to approach it gradually.


By the way I listened to the song "into the mind@ I liked it a lot. You sound a lot like the singer of Novembers doom.
