slightly sharp..

theres somethin wrong with my guitar
its the trem..when i push down on the bar to do
harmonics or what ever its fine but as soon as i release
back to normal pitch it goes slightly sharp so i have to push the bar down
a tiny bit to get it back in standard tuning

do all floyd trems do this or is it just my piece of shit
also will extra springs in the back cavity help at all

i dont think it needs an extra spring (i should work fine with 2 springs, unless u use very low tunings maybe), but try some new springs, maybe theyre old and worn out and simply lost their power.

also, what kinda floyd isit?? if its a licensed floyd dont be surprised that it does that, but if its an original floyd it should return to pitch verry good if not perfect.

EDIt: while thinking ofit, maybe an extra spring will help, theres more power that pulls the bar back so.

i have 3 springs in the back as it is anyways
i play in standard tuning not really a low tuning person
as for the springs being old or worn you could be right there
i have had them for quite a while.

its a kramer floyd rose trem..is it a bad one?
i will try and get an extra spring in there see if that works
and if it osent i'll get a new set

id just go for the new springs, if it keeps happening than its just the tremolo i think.

ive had the same problem on my ibanez with a lo pro edge, i sold it becuz of that, springs (even new ones) didnt do the trick for that guitar.

i have no experience with the kramer floyds, so i cant judge over that

Sounds like the knife edges (the thin pieces of metal the bridge pivots against the studs with) are going out. Get yourself a schaller-made FR or an OFR. They both have stainless steel knife edges that take forever to wear out. Those liscensed ones on imports don't use stainless steel for their knife edges and usually will wear out within a few years.

If the guitar is going sharp, then the springs are pulling too hard, which would seem to rule out the springs having perished?
