Cynic
This band is shamefully ignored by the metal community at large. Listening now, I find it almost impossible to believe that Focus was released in 1993.
In conclusion, Cynic ruled. Discuss.

You only just heard? What the fuck man!
With the exception of Gorguts, Cynic are the greatest band ever. Focus is just amazing.

Cynic rule. One of my favorite bands, the guitarists are amazing, everything about the band is amazing, I'm also trying to get a hold on some of their earlier demos.

Cynic are alot like Atheist. Is that right? I only heard 2 Atheist tracks however and I heard the whole Focus album from Cynic, they are like twin bands.

Masvidal is incredible. Those faggy computer vocals are the only thing that keeps that album from being one of my favorites.

wasn't that used because the singer had problems with his vocal cords?
i kinda like it, makes the album more unique.

Yeah, I think his vocal cords were messed up from doing thrash vocals. I guess it could be worse, though.

masvidal screwed up his voice before focus so they had a differnet guy do the death vocals, just a guest on that album. the computerized vocals were just added for the hell of it

i bought the cd over a year ago on Amazon, original, for 8 bucks. then about 3 months later, they re-released it with extra tracks and it pissed me off. Focus kicks ass man. i like that cd, it relaxes me.

Yeah, good stuff. Prime example of metal with innovation and an open mind. I agree: the computerized vocals make it very unique. Whats new on the re-release?

The Re-released one is Re-mastered. It sounds like the songs are just amplified and there's 14 songs on the Re-Released version

actually the full album is not remastered or remixed on the re-release. only three (i think) songs were chosen to be remixed and they are on the album twice, in their original and remixed form. they didnt do a great job remixing, but the cool thing is on the last song How Could I? it doesnt fade out so you hear them start to noodle around when they think its nto being taped
and theres a few songs from that gay portal band's demo

I hate them, but from what I remember the singer kind of sounds like Thom Yorke from Radiohead if I remember correctly.

ahh human what a great album, sean and paul made that album awesome ( besides Chuck and Steve's awesomeness). And come on Aeon Spoke isnt that bad. They are pretty good if you dig progressive stuff, but Rush and King Crimson own Aeon Spoke anyday.
