Loop Pedal?

i dont know much about gear at all but im looking to buy a loop pedal. one of my friends tried one at our music store and it was cutting out and didnt sound good (not to mention it is confusing as hell). i was looking at the Boss RC20XL found here.

i was wondering if anyone has any advice on brand or use of the product. any input is appreciated.

i have that looper pedal. boss rc20xl.

i actually only use it for sampling. not 5 harmonizing or anything nuts like that. it's fun to jam with though. but i bought it with sampling in mind, so that's what i use it for. just record an audio clip out of a movie or something, run it through the PA and play it back at the tap of the pedal.
