My eyes sting in thought of what's to come
Time has run out and I feel I'm the villain
Sorrow stabs me time after time
It's the right thing to do
To let her go with dignity
Even though she doesn't know

She sleeps so peacefully, so serene
She seems so normal in her slumber
But in waking there's just nothing there
Nothing from her normal routine
No wag, not even a look toward a voice
Time to let go. let her go

Let her go where the pain ends
Where she can rest easy
Let her go where she'll wait patiently
Like they say --All dogs go to Heaven
We'll all be together someday
Goodbye for now, old girl
We love you still, goodbye
