Best Maiden Album

What do you guys think was the best Maiden album ever released? I would say Iron Maiden or Number of the Beast. I personally liked Di'ano and there were many great songs on Iron Maiden like prowler, phantom of teh opera, running free, and transylvania. Then again number of the beast was pretty bad ass. Dickinsons first album and the first time i heard it i was blown away.

Probably any of the first 3 in no real order as they all rule.
All contain killer tunes such as Prowler, Purgatory, Killers, Phantom Of the Opera, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Prisoner, Remember Tomorrow...I could go on.
Life After Death is also a pretty cool album, though could have done without Rhime Of the Ancient Mariner!

Yeah its a tough one, I hate having to choose cause I like Powerslave a lot too and Caught Somewhere in Tme. I think it's a generation thing and what album you first heard or bought which guides your choice. I'm an old croak so I got Number of the Beast when it first came out

Powerslave. Brave New World (I'm so gonna catch shit for that). Killers (tie for 2nd).

Mk, I feel like I should explain the BNW pick. I was getting tired of the same old Maiden way back when, and then that came out. My dad bought it, and it was in my rotation for a long time. Love it, so fuck it.

Kinda seemed trendy to mention Killers as one of the top ones after I posted it, then Chris... Who knows.

Kinda seems stupid that some gay ass little kid who listens to rap is telling me about metal.

As opposed to someone who has a very narrow point of view when it comes to music? I listen to everything, and if you had've been here long enough to know much other than what you read on my profile, you wouldn't really question it.

No, I was just saying it was odd to see that, considering I never see Killers as one of everyone's favorite Maiden albums.

Yeah, that seven-man (you're number 5, by the way, Dissy you trendy fuck) trend's really something to get in on. I'm sure that motivated it.

I love pretty much every album Adrian Smith played on, but Piece of Mind through 7th Son, when they opened up their songwriting to more than just Steve Harris and guest, do it best for me. I couldn't really settle on any single one of those, but Powerslave's probably the most consistent, which is probably the reason it gets so many votes. I've been revisiting Somewhere In Time recently, so I'd probably say it's my favorite at the moment.

Incidentally, has anybody noticed that Transient and MTM's opinions on music have gotten much, much closer lately? Not necessarily here, but I keep seeing one of them say something I'd expect the other to have said. It's disconcerting.

Finally, to bookend my remarks with remarks to Dissection: People who advertize that they're straight-edge are exactly as annoying as personality stoners. Not doing drugs is great, but not nearly as great as shutting the fuck up.

I was number 5? No shit... Ouch.

And that is my response to all the people who put "420" and all the other drug and alcohol related stuff in their screen name/profile. Personally, I don't care what anyone thinks about it, and like I said, only advertise it for that reason.

And because it pisses off my buddy.
