slightly off topic question here, but while on the subject of dying fetus gear does anyone know what amps they use to get such a brutal tone?

Ampeg Vh 140 c, but they stopped making those. A head that will give you a similar sound is the Crate GT3500H. if DeathCS reads this thread, he'll let you know about it, he has the Crate gt3500.

the crate gt3500h head will give you dying fetus tone like that. its pretty much the modern version of the vh130c which they used.

ok, ive got a boss ds1 pedal and im gonna get an invader in the bridge so what do you think would get me the more brutal tone the shock wave or the voodoo?, bearing in mind that i want a brutal tone i also want a nice tone for solos and whatnot, and i also i only play thrash and death.
wot do u reckon?

Step 1: Make sure you lose the DS1 on the way to/from school one day.
Step 2:Play both the amps and see what one you like best.
Step 2 alt: Just get the SS Crate and be happy. The Voodoo's are nice for smooth tones, but most modern SS have crunch berry balls hard wired into them.
Tip: Avoid Line6! At all cost do not buy a Spider II.
Step3: Decide for yourself. |
