sustain on floating bridge

hello... i noticed that my guitar has very little sustain compared to other guitars. is it because of the floating bridge? i don't think its the pickups because i have a tonezone(B) and a paf pro(N). i'm considering blocking the bridge with a block of wood or something. but, will it be noticably better? or just a tad? i use an ibanez rg... thanks in advance for replies

floating bridges fuck up a lot of suastain, cuz theres a big fucking hole in the body to fit the trem in, blocking it wont help a lot either i guess, the big piece of wood is still missing so

Some gates tend to suck tone. Just a matter of fine tuning them

9's with low action could definately affect it.

and your noise gate.... yeah... probably has alot to do with it. try playing without the noise gate to see if you can get more sustain. you may just need to upgrade the gate to someting a bit more transparent.
