Kahler question...

I have two questions. OK has anyone heard anything on the flat plate? IT was supposed to be out in October and there has not been any news on it on their site. So does anyone have any contact with them and could you ask them what's up?

OK second question. I am going to put the flat plate on my Ibanez. I bridge on there now is a low edge pro. But this new Kahler supposidly covers your original trem route. Ok the question I have is about the locking nuts. Am I stuck with the Ibanez locking nuts? Or can I possibly replace them with Kahler locking nuts on them? Like I had my eye on the 5514 Pro Stringlock.

It should just be a matter of un-screwing it right?Maybe needing to drill new holes to fit the kahler.

Just use the ibanez locking nuts, they'll work fine.

But still it isn't completely necisary. He would still be fine if he left the edge nut on there. But I'm just curious if your guitar already has an edge on it why wouldn't you get something that isn't a flatmount thatway you wouldn't have to fill that hole after.

NO NO the flat plate helps you with that. Bassically, It covers your original trem route with a flat plate so that you can place a Kahler system on this plate. So no routing is required. I just rather have a Kahler and I hate the Ibanez Edge Pros.

I will probably keep the edge locking nuts. They should work fine. But those Kahler ones seem easier to change strings and lock/unlock.

Do you mean replace the routing in the back of the guitar or on the top of the guitar?

Well the thing w/ the Kahler nuts is that it's like right over the truss rod cover and blocking it, right?

On top. No routing. The flate plate is the size of a pick gaurd and then you can place a Kahler system on top of the plate.

Well then what about that big ol' chunk of wood missing from the back with the routing required for the trem? You're still gonna need to fill that if you get a kahler.

Dude, unless you wanna learn how to do it or something, all that shit is sooo not worth it just for a kahler.

I think it is. Plus I wanna start building my own guitars so when I take this in to the shop I want the guy to show me how it works.

I am actually only getting Kahlers on my guitars from now on. Eccept for my Jackson KV2 there will be no Floyds or Edge Pros for me.
