i dont mean to be flamed or be hated  at this forum or any thing but just out of curiosity i wanted to know why all of you hate slipknot so much (i mean, hate korns----->fine, hate linkin park---->fine, hate crazytown ---->birth right) but wats so wrong about slipknot (  jess curiosity, damning curiosity ) and let me make it very clear that i DONT think that they are the best band ever (instead right now i m into LAMB OF GOD) but i dont think they are that bad
also wat genre are lamb of god considered to be in thrash???? (if so how come???? coz metallica is thrash and they sound so different than LOG)
and also could someone tell me the diff b/w the different extreme metal genres
all this considering that i have had very less metal exposure (uptill now) |

There are plenty of bad bands. Some of them are very good at what they do, and still write bad songs, put out bad albums and flat-out suck. Like anything Malmsteen ever did.
But I think people hate Slipknot because they provide a massively shallow perspective on what extreme music is supposed to look and sound like. They're a bunch of clowns who jump around like autistic kids in a tumble drier, write terrible lyrics, generally fail to play their instruments and as a reward end up as poster boys for heavy metal. Of course, people resent that, because it's fucked.
Before you start another thread, consider the fact that this one is gay and that most of the replies you'll get will sound like this:

That's pretty much it IMO, I don't mind Slipknot so much but I don't like the fact that when people think of metal, they think of Slipknot. They are at best an image band. |
