Single humbucker pickguard?
Anybody know where to find a pickguard with just a single bridge humbucker cut out of it? Because it would save a ton of cash filling in the cavity of the neck pickup a getting a whole custom job done when i could just simply put a pickguard on it.

What kind of guitar are we talking about here doc?
You know. cause you can buy "Pick guards" at any guitar shop. but that doesnt mean it will fit your guitar. I hear they make more than one type of guitar now days.

probably would be hard to find.
Ask your Ibanez Dealer to see if they can order one in for you.

I found this one dude at www.terrapinguitars.com to make it for me, he seemed pretty cool & actually understood what i was talking about & sent me a template of a Universe pickguard for me to alter to whatever shape or pickup config i want & he will make. And there is something about Ibanez bodys that you just cant use any aftermarket pickguard.

Well The heel pocket I'm guessing would be the bottom of the neck. Because on some Ibanezes I've seen the neck comes down farther than a strat. And yea Ibanez pickgaurds are slightly more specialised than the plain old strat. and the fact that its a 7 string doesn't help the matter either.

Universes' are 7 string? Why the hell would he send a universe template?
I know a few places within Australia for blanks, like mirror, gold, pearloid and shit.Im guessing you live in the states so try something like http://www.wdmusic.com/pickguard_blanks_13534_ctg.htm
then you can make cavity covers and shit to match it.

Thanks man, The first pickguard the dude sent was fucked up because the pot holes didnt fit so he sent me a new one with no pot holes & i eliminated the tone pot & drilled one hole so i just have the volume knob with the tone wide open all the time. I guess the Universe pots are lined up slightly different than a RG. Useful knowlege for those installing a Universe pickguard on their RG.
