New Amp?

Alright so my band just finished recording 2 songs (out of 6) and we wanted to get our demo back and start playing some shows...The thing is, our lead guitar players amp just blew and hes looking for a new amp....What he wants is a half stack so I was just wondering what a good fairly cheap half stack would be?....(P.S, Money is a pretty big issue at the moment)

cheers

I'd reccomend the Berhinger V-Tone Head and Behringer Ultrastack for a head/cab package. Should only run you 600 bucks or so, and I like the tonal quality better than Line 6 amps.

you could snag a used 5150 head and a marshall 1960a or 1960b.

I think I would probably go with the 1960a instead of the 1960b....And as for the head, I read some good things about it....Im not a big fan of peavey but I'll definitely go check it out

Thanks

I have played one. At a guitar center, I spent quite a while on one. I basically ran around the store with an Ibanez Steve Vai Jem and plugged into every amp I could, and the Line 6 actually managed to make it sound bad. When you can snag Peavey or Crate tube amps for under 400$, there is no goddamned reason to get a Line 6 Spider.

The only way I could describe hi-gain channels on the Line 6 Spider : Built in pedal distortion! So pedal-like that you don't need a pedal! Yeah ...
