What to buy..

yea, i've been wanting to get some stuff to improve my tone .. im mainly into Thrash/Death metal and i am a big fan of Death (the band).

some things i've considered are:

-MXR ZW44 Zakk Wylde Overdrive Pedal
-DigiTech Death Metal Distortion Pedal
-Boss MD2 Mega Distortion Effects Pedal
-DOD YJM308 Yngwie Malmsteen Signature Overdrive Pedal
-MXR KFK1 Kerry King 10-Band Equalizer
-metal master metal distortion
-Keeley Metal zone.

now, i have only been playing for about 3 years although i wouldnt say im bad. I have a Cube 30 amp and a Washburn (x-series).

I am more interested in the Kerry king equalizer and the Death metal distortion pedal but im not sure right now. So,
i was hoping someone could give me some suggestions.
thanx

p.s/ i know i have to get a better guitar in the future but right now the washburn is alright. (or so im told washburns arent all that great)

I would say upgrade your amp
the death metal distortion sucks imo
and most of the signiture pedals and shit are just that... the overdrive pedals are mainly for tube amps to give them a little extra push, not really for using them straight out as your distortion
really just go to a music shop and try em out, we could list all kinds of things to buy but it comes down to what you dig

how much do you have to spend btw?

Only if possible, buying a better amp and guitar would be the best thing. If not, then stuff like Metal Zone is actually good enough just to last you like a couple of months, which can be sufficient time to earn some money. Other than that, the eq can be even used after you buy a good amp. If you want the MXR, then I just recommend the reg. 10 band one, fuck the King one, it's the same thing.

I like Kerry's EQ, but an upgrade on a pick-up or an amp would deffinitly fix your problem

But you see theres no difference between Kerry's EQ and the normal one. So pretty much you're just paying for a swanky paintjob.

Only difference is that the KFK has two outputs...(for two amps) which is cool if you use two amps....which I do...so I own one.
