Steve Digiorgio
Hey...I just started listening to some stuff recorded by Steve Digiorgio about 3 months ago and thought it was fucking awesome, so I went to his website ( www.stevedigiorgio.com) to see if I could find some sound/video clips and read more about the guy, I managed to find 3 video clips on the music link ( www.stevedigiorgio.com/music.html) and was fucking blown away by them
The 3 clips were recorded at Dynamo 2000, and what I was wondering is, if anyone knows the titles of the 3 songs being performed? for some reason it doesnt say on the page so if anyone could watch the 3 clips and tell me what songs they are I would REALLY appreciate it you can go to the website and find the videos on the music link I posted above or I can direct link the videos right here so you can just download them (you need windows media player) :
Clip #1 http://www.stevedigiorgio.com/bin/stevedoa2000-1.asf
Clip #2 http://www.stevedigiorgio.com/bin/stevedoa2000-2.asf
Clip #3 http://www.stevedigiorgio.com/bin/stevedoa2000-3.asf
So yeah...if anyone could tell me what these 3 songs are I would be really happy, cause I wanna fuckin' learn them! lol
Thanks in advance.
Cheers!

The first one is D.N.R. (Do No Resuscitate), the second one is Down For Life and I think the last one is Demonic Refusal. That's a shame you can't hear the bass that much on the albums though.

Pretty good videos, some nice fretless action, its rare you see a metal bassist using a fretless and his fingers, and he plays well..

I wasn't so happy with that album ... or with any of the other albums Testament made after that one. I miss the good old Alex Skolnick (sp?) days. But admittedly Low was also a great album ...
I'll give Demonic another listen, I don't recall hearing any captivating bass parts (or guitar parts for that matter, that album is sort of a drum show off album). Going death metal is fine to me so long as you don't get rid of the progressive elements, especially the good solos...
.... or wait ... are those songs all on Demonic or are some on The Gathering? Well anyway what I said about Demonic goes for The Gathering as well. Do they have another album after those two?
btw I can't listen to those at this point in time but I will download later. I'm just saying this to help explain what I was talking about here.

Steve DiGiorgio is amazing in everyband he has played in, one of the most influencial bassists in metal and still going.
I love how the singer is playing his mic stand like a guitar.

Chucks side project Control Denied has great bass work in it by Steve, it's great to hear a bass player that leaves the boundries of the rythum guitar.
^Fuck, how do you spell that

Hey, don't forget about the stuff he did in Iced Earth. Horror Show was already a great album but his tone and little fills made it so much better.
