Jacob bannon from converge has always had a seriously vicious scream. i thought he was usin effects on his voice but even live its fuckin perfect and i was wondering is there some technique or style hes using? i realize theres plenty of threads about death/black metal singing but im more interested in a high pitched destorted sound.

There are threads here about distortions, breathing, and all general vocal styles--including your high pitched screech. You're not going to sound exactly like someone many years older than you, so I'd suggest quit asking and just read.
