no to the external speaker thing. and kinda sorta to direct recording.
you wouldnt be able to push a cab with a preamp, as it has no poweramp.
if you plugged that straight into a mixer, it would sound like shit because it's not eq'd, you'd want a cab/poweramp simulator like a h&k redbox DI.
