Technical death metal songs that are fun...
I'm looking for some challenging DM songs that are fun to play, preferably from well known bands. Something in the vein of Necrophagist or Suffocation, but something a bit catchier. I like them and all, but I've played a couple riffs and I'm not having a lot of fun really. I thought I might have fun with "Extreme Unction", but there's just way too many changes and riffs to remember that it takes the fun out of learning the song. Anyone know what kind of stuff I might like?
I can already play 3 Death songs from "Symbolic", the only album I've gotten into besides "Scream Bloody Gore". Decapitated and Vader also float my boat.
It doesn't have to be death metal either, it could be anything, but something thats fun, challenging and catchy.
The last couple of Immortal albums is also what I'm interested in. I like technical stuff when it's taking simple stuff but arranging it in a complex way. Maybe these referances will make it clearer as to what kind of stuff I'm looking for.

Try Anal Skewer by Gorgasm - SpiritCrusher's Guitar Pro tab is really good, too.

One of the songs that I find most fun to play is Akercocke's "Enraptured By Evil". It's quite technical at times but there's enough of a tune to keep it interesting. Check my tab, it rules!
Another good one that I like and isn't as technical as most of their stuff is Nile's "Wind Of Horus". Check my tab, it rules! Try also, "Chapter For Transforming into a Snake" by Nile, fucking awesome to play. Check my tab... oh you get the picture!

Definately try that one.
I would say unleashing the bloodthirsty by cannibal corpse its not really hard but it is fun.
Another fun DM song is The Berserker - Reality that isn't really hard either but it's fun.
And Massacre by the Berserker that's pretty mad.

Gutted (Live version) it's faster
I Cum Blood

Holy crap I love that song! I didn't know there was a tab for it, then again I never looked for it, thanks.

Will check the tab for this, I'm just too lazy to read text tabs... that's all. But since Yura did I'm sure it's 100% accurate like that Wormed tab, but I feel a lot better just looking at GuitarPro tabs lol.
Johnmansley, I'll check that Nile song out, I'm not familiar with it though. As soon as I put in my new strings(.70 guage E string!), I'll try some B and A# tuning songs, I'm dying to learn "Execration Text" but it's insane!

I love Arsis. I got a few riffs down for that song, but Dimenjaro is tabbing it so he'll probably post it soon. He already put up "The Face of My Innocence" and someone else did a GP tab for it, so I'm learning that song too. That's the style of stuff I was talkin about.
The only Akercocke song that I know and like is "Horns of Baphomet", I need to listen to them more but I'll check your tab out as you said. I play a lot of Behemoth too, but they're pretty easy IMO.
Any really catchy Death songs that I might not have listened to? The only melodic Death songs I have listened to is the Symbolic album, and the song "Voice of the Soul", what other songs are really cool and fun?
I'm a big fan of Schuldiner-style leads so any more reccomendations are welcome. Also... what's a good Megadeth solo that isn't too hard? I only know the tapping part from "Tornado of Souls".
Thanks a lot for the reccomendations everyone.

Try out anything from the "Heartwork" album by Carcass - very similar to latter day Death, only I prefer Bill and Michael's solos to Chuck's.

Cryptopsy is hella fun to play. My favourites to play are Emaciate, Shroud and White Worms (That one is the easiest from the DiSalvo era Cryptopsy, try that one to break the ice).

Cryptopsy - cold hate, warm blood is great fun to play too I find. However, We Bleed is a bitch but also great fun and faceless unknown. Cryptopsy in general is great to play.
I also like playing Nile - Kheftiu asar butchiu and chapter for transforming into a snake, Behemoth - most stuff, pretty simple really. Also when you nail an origin sweep it sounds so great but the burner is awesome.
The MOST fun "tech death" I know though is by far Lashed to the Slave stick......I havn't even got all the parts yet but the bits I have got are so fun to play

I appreciate the reccomendations, but I'm looking for catchier stuff lol. I love Suffo, Cryptopsy, Severed Savior, Gorguts, Disgorge, etc. but it's not the kind of songs I want to play at the moment.
Btw, I'm seeing Suffo/Cryptopsy/Vader/Decapitated/Aborted next week!
Edit: Well, not exactly my parents, but my brother already hates me for trying to play Wormed's "Tunnel of Ions".
