New Powerball...?

some peeps at the esp forum are talking about this

http://p222.ezboard.com/fespguitars...icID=8874.topic

im not sure if its true or not, but it seems like it is, especially as one of them said:

Quote:
i got a response from engl

1. they will soon put the changes online at their site.
2. changes:

-Update Noise Gate:

-> Release Time reduced;

-> double High Pass Filter integrated;

-> extended Threshold range;

-modified gain structure in the 2 lead channels:

- less feedback

-Treble-Poti of the 2 lead channels changed from linear to logarithmic controll

3. powerballs with serialnumbers above 218233 are the new modified models

4. the old version can be updated for about 95€

when i spoke with derek(rocksolidamps) he mentioned he's blowing out the old stock of powerballs dirt cheap to make room for the new ones. i'd hop on that shit before you miss out. grab a new powerball for an almost used price and help him out a bit(hurricane wilma came and swept shit up).

its times like these when i hate living in london, england.
everything here is like twice the price as america and if you wanna buy stuff from abroad they rape you with shipping and import tax. bastards
i had to pay £25 import tax for a crybaby i bought from america, i thought i would be saving a lot, but with the tax i might as well have bought it here for less and i would have had a lot less hassel.

xdx how much you getting your powerball for?, theyre retailing here for about £980

yay, now I have an oldskool powerball.

the noise gate was allready pretty good but not exactly an isp decimator, so I guess it's a good thing they improved it

found this out....
Quote:
I did the sounddesign for both versions...
No big deal here- the new Noise Gate is very much better, but the soundvoicing is basically the same. The only change is that the treble poti was changed to a logharitmic curve..
Overall it can! sound more tight and midrangy but if you crank the treble 2 digits more than you used to- you'll get the old Powerball sound.
The gain fine tuning is not audible, just some tweaking to get it more robust against feedback.....

Happy testing....

Best regards, Bernie

so basically the gain has been set up to create a little less feedback, while still sounding pretty much the same... and the noise gate has been improved aswell. whilst the treble controls now react a little differently.

he also told me there will be no change in price. and if your dealer says it's more. he's ripping you off.
