kahlers are the most expensive production line trems
but the reason why ibanez bridges are so expensive is because the ibanez only make enough bridges for the amount of guitars theyre making, for example, they will only make 300 bridges if theyre making 300 guitars. they may make a lil extra just in case, but thats generally what they do. see, they only make bridges with the intention of them being used for their guitars. so theyre not going to make more than they need. because of this, it is rare to find spare or seperate bridges for sale. because of it being so rare, people jack up the prices. i think your all familiar with supply and demand. This is a prime example of it.
see floyd and kahler make bridges with the intention of selling it on its own, so they make alot of them, not just enough off them to accomodate a certain amount of guitars, they make enough so that its widely available.
neways, if i was filthy rich i would buy that part, but im not, so i would just opt for another bridge, like a floyd. i would get a kahler, but there aint no 7 string kahlers...yet.
but yea, $325 is a bit expensive for a bridge...

ibanez got sued by floyd rose for making that bridge, so it may not be around for much longer.
Quote:
IBANEZRULES.COM And the EDGE III which is pretty much an Edge Pro II version of the original Edge, now appearing on 3 RG models, the 320, 350's, and 370 and shown on the RG page. Why? When the patent ran out on the original Floyd Rose everybody thought it was a free for all and designed new trems. Ibanez designed the Edge Pro. Well, FR still has a patent on the Lo Pro design until 2007. He went after everybody who's design impinged on the LP design, and won. Ibanez had to pay a $250,000 fine, and they still have to pay Floyd $17 per trem, both EP and EPII. That's why they designed the EDGE III, because it's based on the EDGE and not the Lo Pro. Expect to see it on more models next year.

i think thats why the new line of ibanez guitars got jacked up, to cover the cost of the bridge and the law suit costs.
that bridge is the best looking trem ever, i heard its pretty stable aswell.
