Quick Question About Major/Minor Scales
I'll keep this short. In a major scale (we'll use G because it's easy) there are half steps between the 3rd and 4th note and the 6th and 7th note. Like so:
G-A-B-C-D-E-F-G
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8
===|--|==|--|==
(There is no note between B and C and E and F on bass)
Now, my question is, if I wear to make it a G minor scale, where would the half steps be?
Thanks.

Between the 2nd and 3rd interval, and between the 5th and 6th interval. Also G major uses F# instead of F.
G Major
intervals: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7
half-steps: 2-2-1-2-2-2-1
notes: G,A,B,C,D,E,F#
G Natural Minor
intervals: 1,2,b3,4,5,b6,b7
half-steps: 2-1-2-2-1-2-2
notes: G,A,Bb,C,D,Eb,F

u technically made a minor scale with what u have. because that scale is called the mixolydian mode. if it were to be a major the F should be sharpend
maj pattern.
tonic-step-step-semi-step-step-step-step-tonic
the tonic is the start and finisher note

Yjm, Mixolydian is actually a major mode. . . the seventh is the only lowered tone therefore making it your dominant(form of major) mode. . . hence the V7 chord works in this particular position(In this case the G chord in C natural major). But something in my theory book also refers to this being somehow diminished in the natural minor so in A minor yeah. . . don't really get it, just what people smarter than I say. But then again you can also call that chord a major minor chord. . . . but the scale itself is recognized as diminished
