suggest me wah!
i searched around, and couldn't find anything that helps me, so im guna put this out there and hope not to get flamed.
I want wah in my setup, but theres about a billion different wahs out there.
I want one that has a large sweep, BUT, i also want to be able to change the sweep and the attack and all the dynamics and shit... either that or just get one thats perfect for me. My buddy suggested a boss V-wah, or a ZW crybaby... or any kind of crybaby... but theres like 10 crybaby's.
I'd basically be using it for 2 different things... progressive psychadelic shit... and slayer/noisecore solos --> pretty much fast, random notes with wah overtop...
Budget: $200.

Don't fucking buy that Dime and Zakk wahs just for the name. I'm not saying they're bad, but like a crybaby classic or 535Q is also good for a better price.

Try out the Ibanez Wah, I havent heard it but I have heard some really good things about it, and for something I have tried and I loved was the Steve Vai Bad Horsie 2 by Morley, fucking wicked wah man, try those 2 out, thats my suggestion....

I have both a Zakk and a Dime , I also have used a original cry baby , A bad horsie ,a Vox and a Fulltone clyde deluxe.
All are decent but the best one and fuck the name is IMHO the Dime .
I like the Sweep and the tone is excellent , also the options are good.
So for my money the Dime is it.I was a bit dissapointed with the Zakk.

but the problem with that , some of these guys like stuff that to you will sound like shit , Its cool to get ideas but then you have to demo the shit yourself. For example alot of dudes rave about the 5150 amp I think it sucks, You may love it. So demo gear yourself. And good luck |

Give the Dime wah a try. It's got a dial on the side that lets you adjust the frequency of the wah, plus it's got a booster on it that helps the wah cut through the mix alot better.

dude are you a guitarist or a wussy? wasting time with testing gear? i mean wtf ... if my bandmate asked how the vai1 from morley sounds like and i'd say: "well dude listen... i prefer to spend my time on importend things ...not like testing gear before i buy it" he'd probable smack me right into face... and hes fuckin right.

some people on this forum have good things to say, thus i ask, and 99% of the time, get a good idea of what i'm looking for. and with my experience, i find that every time i dont listen to them, i fuck up. Therefore i ask here so i dont waste my time and money.
ps. harmony central sucks... a majority of posts are from 13 year old kids who think their gear is the best

ahh btw i tested about 15 wahs before i bought mine and it actually took lots of time and some of the guys in the store hate me now but at least i got a impression how they sound like which i would not have if i only asked on forums.
