Acoustic question...
I have a Washburn D-10, most likely a mahogany. My guitar has a very bassy sound to it. Now the strings have never been changed, so they've been the same for 7 years(lol), but I think they're pretty high guage. Would using smaller guage strings on my acoustic give it a more middy-trebly sound or am I doomed to the warm tones mahogany wood? I love those trebly tones from Bathory...
Another thing. How much would a bridge repair cost me? The bridge is peeling off, leaning towards the neck. If it's anything above $50, should I just go the extra few bucks and buy a new acoutic? My Washburn is real beat up so I don't think it would be worth repairing if it costs a lot. Any reccomendations for a reasonably priced acoustic?

I dunno, I think it has more to do with, than just the strings. I have a Taylor 110, and it has a bright, "trebly" sound I guess. I tried Martins in the same price range, and they had a more bassy, and kinda dull tone to me.

D-10 is what it sais on the inside, at least that's what I can make out by looking into the soundhole. The acoustic belongs to my brother, he said it cost under $200.
My budget... is ridiculously low for a "good" guitar. I would spend $50-100 on a brand new one. Anyone know of any in that price range that aren't a piece of shit? I'm not an elitist, so I don't mind if it wasn't hand-manufactured by an old man living isolated in a mountain somewhere in Spain. As long as it plays fine, is durable, and doesn't sound like ass I'm happy. Or should I just get this one repaired?

i dont even think with $50-$100 u can get a near decent guitar, most acoustic pieces of crap are around $150. with your money you can get a rogue or an epiphone but those guitars are better used as fire wood, i would just repair your d-10s if it's not to much. Or pawn your acoustic then with you're exhisting money and the money you just got for you're guitar, buy another guitar from the pawn store.
