I know this will make me seem dumb. Are you down tuning your strings? I can't really help you with floyd stuff, i don't have one. But it seems that would be the problem.

try raising the action a bit, it sounds to me the string is a little to close to the fretboard, wich makes it touch the frest while playing a loose string.

OR... i sdunno what guitar u have, but a lot of cheap guitars have this problem, the frets are uneven, meaning, one fret will stick out a little bit more, wich will make the string buzz.

hope this helps

rattering... that's funny word, if it's even a word.

Try raising the action on the lower end just a hair, that may fix the rattering

You may have to adjust the truss rod, but I would suggest trying raising the action first... Also, if you do mess with the truss rod, take it slow doing 1/4 turns at a time, but I don't know wich way you should turn it, so ...

does it rattle when you hit it open? if yes it's definately the action or too much downtune

or it's when you fret 1, 2 or 3? you could check for a neck backbow, you'll need a truss rod setup..

read the following url and you'll fix your problems.

http://www.musicyo.com/planet/elec_gtr_setup.asp (complete setup)
http://www.athensmusician.net/archi...neimbody1.shtml (more infos on the truss rod)
