Cleaning Guitar+frets
I was wondering what do you use to clean your guitar finish, fretboard and strings and how often do you do it. I use car wax to clean the finish of the guitar. It seems to do the job pretty good (even thought it is for cars) and I use listeen to clean the neck once a month to keep the wood in good top shape. But never overdue it cuz the oil may soak into the wood and push the fretboards out. Someone told me I should use Dunlop formula cleaners for cleaning the guitar and I think I'll try ordering some from the net.
My other question is I cannot find frets anywhere. My guitar needs fret changing pretty soon and I cannot find anywhere at all where they sell medium and jumbo size frets. I also cannot find a site that will as well. I was wondering if any of you know a site that sells frets.

I use gibson guitar polish for the finish and fast fret to clean the strings and sometimes the fretboard. I usually clean the fretboard with a dry cloth and sometimes a little bit of lemon oil..
a site that sells frets? have you tried warmoth and shit? are you planning of installing them yourself?

No, but I have a good friend who is a guitar tech (probably the only one in Saudi) and he'll do it for me. I don't trust myself.

I use the guitar polish by DaVinci, with a DaVinci cloth.

To clean fretboards, I use 000 grade steel wool. I use boiled linseed oil to keep my fretboard... not dry. Has anyone else ever used this stuff?

Whenever I change strings I wipe down the fretboard with AXE-WAX oil, and everytime I finish playing I wipe the strings down with a paper towel. Works fine for me.

When you clean your guitars with your formulas do you wipe the formula off after a couple of minutes or do you keep it on and let the wood absorb it? When I clean the finish with the wax I wipe the wax off after a couple of minutes and when I use linseed oil to clean the neck I also wipe it off after a couple of minutes.

Wouldn't your guitar tech friend have fret wire, or know where to get it himself?

Actually he is the one who told me I need to change my frets soon and he told me he needs to change his. He wants me to find a place so I can find jumbo size frets for him and medium frets for myself.

if you don't mind me asking, what the hell are you doing over there? do they even have guitar stores over there? I can imagine it's not a really popular instrument over there, those guys have been rocking the sitar since 1000a.d.

We moved there when I was small from Lebanon so my dad can work there as a doctor. The music stores there are literally crap and I always get my things when I'm out on vacation to a different country and no one there likes metal except for me.
