Weird shit, as far as the poem goes. Kind of a nice break from the typical gore stuff that most people write around here, but it's just got an odd vibe to it.

Well, I've read much worse attempts at evil lyrics. Say Powers, are you a member of a band so that there is a chance one might hear it in the full fledged metal version?

I've got two bands that are both without enough players, so I've never gigged. One of 'em is an old school thrash band and all we need is a drummer, and the other's a technical gore deathmetal band without a bass player. Lyrics like this wouldn't fit in either of the bands.

However, after I get these bands going (which won't be probably for another couple years cause I need the time and money), I plan on doing my lifelong dream of a side project. I've written songs since I was in Middle school that are in the vein of Old Man's Child and maybe CoB (but Cob wasn't even around at that time). These lyrics would fit there, because it's a deathmetal band with thrash influence, and black metal lyrics.

If you go back through the earlier files there's some really good stuff that shows his Poe-like writing and it's a lot better (in my humble opinion) than the stuff that's for his bands. The old style stuff is my fav.

Oh powers', you haven't lost your touch obviously from this piece. The things you write for the bands are just different and aren't the same style as this. I like this better. Someone else would probably like the more drivelly stuff. j/k

You know, I've never really liked the idea of having a band where the genre is decided and more or less implacable; I enjoy the freedom of for example mixing prog. metal and ballads. Not in the same song, mind...
Maybe you should try to make something of the "sophisticated" lyrics (don't get me wrong!) in the death band? Only thinking aloud. Or, well. You get the point.
