"Winter's Song"

I've been down this path so many times.
Tonight it will not lead me home.
As temperatures start to decline.
And I feel all alone.

And the frozen look of winter, brings me in and closes the door.


Outside I know its getting colder.
But aren't you glad that its all over?

I've reminisced so many times.
I still can't believe you are gone.
Its amazing what can effect our little lives.
And we know whose side change is on.
Well I wonder "Was it worth the pain?"
And the greying look of winter, puts me down with sleet and rain.

You didn't have to ask, really, but that's okay.

I liked this. The usage of the seasons and temperatures and the blend with a short relationship were pretty cool. I do that in some of mine so I'm drawn to things like that. I think I would have liked to have seen something in it that really made it pop, but it wasn't repulsive or anything. Maybe you can doctor that up a little bit so something makes it more memorable. But maybe your music will do that if it's a song. Just because it has song in the title doesn't make it one necessarily.
I'm not sure if I'd go with a mellower Opeth type song with this or something a little rockier. I might be more inclined to go with just an acoustic or piano with it. Zakk Wylde did a nice piano piece called "Too Numb To Cry."
