Don't dislike the music but I do find the corpse paint sillyness a bit much. I also find this elitest attitude crappy. What's with only releasing something silly like five copies of an album and then being ostracized by your peers because you sell three of them! Extremes are integrating to the whole at the moment, of course - the entropy. However, I can't see this happening to Black Metal and other such styles which has that particular theme. Since, as always, humane thinking has been quite limited when it comes to matters that are so calledly "non-real" ie. "idealistic". Normally, and in the past, Black Metal has handled satanism and death in their lyrics and theme, but only as how they affect on real life. But now those matters has, as pointed out, sort of faded away. It seems, or at least I feel that we are reaching a certant consensus in those matters.

But

When it comes to the "idealistic" thinking, we face new problems. Things like space, God as itself, existion and such are matters that are now causing same kind of "paradoxes" as these "real" matters caused before. Sort of confusion, misunderstood and therefore depression - thence a need for expressing those emotions through, for example, music and in this case, Black/Death Metal or any other such style of music.

The point here is that there are still "nutrients" that could feed music styles like Black or Death Metal, and if those nutrients disappear, usually the genre dies aswell (Like: how this movement in the 70's in music styles (like punk) disappeared because the need for rebellioness decreased).

Of course the music might and most likely will change (to the direction of these "new paradoxes"), but the theme, sort of, stays same.
