I've read some of your earlier posts. You tend to go around making bold statements a lot, but you have been open to intelligent discussion and new ideas as well, so I'm not gonna bash you.
The reason I believe Osama is living large is because the guy is wealthy beyond belief. He was raised by the Saudi royal family, and his own family is seriously loaded, too. He is not stupid, either, he is very educated, he has studied in the States, and I think even in Europe. The guy's got connections all over the place, and is pretty much worshipped in the Arab world.
All those religious zealots and scuicide bombers are a bunch of uneducated fools blinded by cool stories and promises that Osama and the like have told them. A lot of those guys come from extremely poor families, and sacrifice their own lives so their family would get money.
You don't understand religious warfare because you haven't lived through it. I have. I grew up in the middle of a war that was fought over religion, and have been disillusioned. It is very hard for me to be patriotic about or loyal to any country because I have been betrayed by my leaders before. I don't believe the media or our so called "leaders". I do tend to go overboard with some of my conspiracy theories sometimes, but even then, I am usually closer to the truth than most of the blind believers out there.
If you are in the Marines, that's great, I'm happy for you. I've talked to people who were in the Marines before, and I have a pretty good idea of how tough the basic training is. Why anyone in their right mind would put themselves through all that shit and abuse, only to be thrown in the first battle lines as cannon fodder is beyond me, but to each his own.
