Is there a difference between...
... a normal guitar and a DRONE guitar? Or is a drone guitar just a normal guitar processed? Just wondering.

Just to hop on to the wagon of wondering... if someone answers this question, can you say exactly what a drone guitar is?

that refers to a musical drone, which is one note played in the bass throughout the whole piece. a good example is the traditional bagpipes piece "flower of scotland"
pretty much anything played on a sitar has a drone.
when you make it two notes it becomes a pedal
i have no fucking idea what a drone guitar is, unless its a guitar which somehow forces you to play the same note underneath whatever your playing.

a drone is a constant note / notes of a specific pitch which plays as a constant bass accompanying the melody. a drone is particularly obvious when listening to bagpipes.
a drone guitar is guitar that has 2 sets of strings ... the standard set and another sympathetic set of strings which runs diagonal inside the guitar body creating drones

If you tune your guitar to something like: EEDDBB, you get drones if you just fret the 2nd, 4th and 6th strings
