I know OF it, I have no clue how one does it, or how it works.
but it looks pretty cool, I prefer the Gravity though, I like doing the classic 2 hands 2 feet split, but gravitying the hand and do it one handed

Yeah I saw this a while back. It's pretty cool but I can't do it. I wouldn't mind learning how but I don't want to spend hours trying to do so.

i emailed psyopus about that closed thread, figured what the hell. they are only like a 5 hours drive away.
i have been spending hours on that technique and have gone nowhere. i can do it as double stroke rudiments but not as straight blasting whatsoever, been watching the vid alot trying to "see" whats going on

Cool about the band thing.
And if you figure out the technique good, let us know how, haha.

Yeah this video is more for people who already know the motion. You can't see how the hell this guy is doing it. That other video would probably be good to start out with. I'd love to be able to do that.

Yes, but it seems they will be very sloppy unless you know exactly what you're doing.

i can do about 160, 16th notes with my right.
still cant do it with my left.
hold the stick at the center. you have to isolate thumb and forefinger from the other fingers that work counter in motion. the heel of your palm is kinda like a stop from which the fulcrum motion restarts. the motions you make are very small and you can emphisize the lift<of your hand> for volume similiar to the rim roll or you can use your middle and ring finger to do it very quietly
its a very wierd technique im still working on it, its hard to control and hard to throw in the mix of beats and regular sticking

Oh yeh my teacher taught me how to do that but BLIMEY I can't do it as fast as that dude. It's not a huge secret, google for it. It's hard to get started on it with your left.

its about as practical as the rim/freehand roll, it feels awkward and doesnt blend well with normal sticking, i can kinda see why jojo said he doesnt use it much.
something is preventing me from going full speed. i can do a modest roll faster than straight singles, but its not nearly fast enough for a 16th note blast. even if i get there the volume of it would be in serious question.
the rim roll is louder
edit: since i made this thread ive been literally practicing this everyday
