"Symphony of Whispers"
"Symphony of Whispers"
Jacob Fitzlaff
9/24/05
A melody overshadows the darkness of this world.
It brings me peace.
And I meditate.
Despite the storm I can hear surrounding me.
I am calm.
I am one.
And the melody continues to play.
Weaving its soft, gentle, forgiving hands through my hair.
Telling me everything will be okay.
Telling me that all is well and all will be well.
Assuring me safety.
Am I mesmerized by this tune?
I think I am.
My soul is perched atop a mountain.
And the valley is peaceful.
No one lives in this valley.
No evil has ever touched it.
Of this, I am proud.
Proud that within my mind, peace dwells.
Indeed it does dwell,
So righteous and free.
Not free by man’s laws,
But free of man’s laws.
And I am forgiven.
The melody is climaxing now.
Whispering the song of the valley.
And playing the strings of morality.
Playing the strings, for humanity.
It falls soothing upon my ears.
For I am weary.
Yes, I am weary.
But I won’t die, I have reason to live.
And she knows it so.
And thus, we sit hand in hand.
Atop the mountain.
Letting the symphony of whispers ease us slowly into oneness.
For if love is not one,
Then love is not at all.
And we meditate.
And we are calm.
And we are one.
As the melody lulls us into sleep.

Very pretty piece. The only thing that threw me was the introduction of the "she" midway. I thought I had an idea of where that was coming from. I was right. It had a lot of elements that I could relate too so that made it even better. Thanks for sharing it.

You have no idea what punk lyrics look or sound like.

He said 'not bad, for a punk,' not 'not bad for punk.' Big difference. So let's all calm down. I don't really even think these are lyrics.
And, to be honest, while one of my favorite lyricists is punk, in general punk isn't have particularly strong when it comes to lyrics. Then again, neither is metal.
