Destroy, Erase, Improve

Anyone got ideas of how to get that very industrial-sounding distortion that Meshuggah attained on DEI. I'm a bit lost as it seems to be very high-end without fuzz. Is it pickups? Gear? Amp settings? EQ? Pedals or effects? I'm well lost. I sound that the Digitech RP has a modulation that gives a very similiar sound but it makes clean stuff go all flangy...

Meshuggah use Line 6 POD's as far as I know. On that album I don't know what they used, but a Line 6 POD will get you in the ballpark. I have a patch that is very, very close to Meshuggah's tone, and should you ever get a POD with the "Insane" model I'll give you the settings for it.

Next time I hit the guitar shops with my rural-isolation-learned skill I'll be trying out that stuff. Master Holland, any chance of posting those settings to me?
